Today, the giraffe has become one of the animals whose habitat should be protected.
This decision was issued by the International Union for Conservation of Nature because this animal is much eradicated as was the case in Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Senegal, Malawi, and Mauritania.
Even more terrifying, Giraffes are also believed to have disappeared from Nigeria, Mali and Angola
Two sub-species of giraffe, known by the name of West African Giraffe and the Rothschild Giraffe has been declared as an endangered species.
Both kinds of giraffe are now numbering in the hundreds which mostly live scattered in the territory of Guinea, Senegal, and Malawi.
Then, how this sort of thing could happen?
Well, giraffe are usually hunted because people want a tail, skin, and flesh.
For example: giraffe tails can be assured a kind of talisman that can bring good luck to people who wear them.
This sort of thing may sound ironic to the animal world.
Moreover, giraffe hunting is not the only thing that makes this animal eradicated.
Degradation that has been happened in giraffe habitat is one of the elements that make the giraffe lost a place to live.
For example, Sahal trees which is a plant that becomes food for the giraffe is currently cut down for livestock or for firewood.
This is aggravated by the fact that the trees were never replanted.
