The common warn is for us not to consume too much salt as it can cause hypertension. However, it’s completely wrong to say salt is our biggest enemy. In fact, we need enough salt to keep the liquid balance in our body. There is even the risk of not consuming enough salt which is as terrible as eating a lot of it.

  • Getting Cramps during Exercise

Having cramps during exercise is the risk of not consuming enough salt. As salt can be used to regulate the balance of your body’s liquid, thus when you exercise you will get cramps and as you will sweat more than usual.

  • Causing Heart Disease

Not consuming enough salt will bring risk to your heart. When you don’t eat enough salt, your body’s liquid balance will definitely be ruined. Hence, it can cause your heart to have cramps which can lead to many other heart diseases.

  • Thyroid Syndrome

For pregnant women, particularly, the risk of not consuming enough salt will mainly affect your baby. Salt contains iodine which is extremely essential for metabolism as well as the brain growth and development of your baby. Therefore, if you don’t consume enough salt during the pregnancy, there is a higher risk for your baby to get some problem with its thyroid.
